Every Canvas has a Story. Every Story has a Home.
Community Guidelines
CanvasGlobe is a place to create, share, discover, and connect with people from around the world. These Community Guidelines exist to help keep CanvasGlobe creative, welcoming, authentic, and safe for everyone.
You don't have to agree with everyone. You don't have to like every Canvas. You are encouraged to express yourself, experiment, create controversial or thought-provoking work, and tell your story.
What matters is how you treat the people around you.
These guidelines apply to Canvases, comments, profiles, messages, links, and other content or activity on CanvasGlobe.
1. Treat People With Respect
CanvasGlobe is a community of individuals with different backgrounds, opinions, cultures, interests, and perspectives.
You are welcome to disagree with someone, criticise an idea, or engage in a debate. However, disagreements should not become personal attacks.
- Harass, bully, intimidate, or threaten other users.
- Deliberately target another person with abusive or degrading content.
- Encourage others to harass or attack someone.
- Repeatedly contact someone after they have made it clear they do not want further interaction.
- Use CanvasGlobe to humiliate or deliberately provoke another person.
Debate is welcome. Abuse is not.
2. Hate and Discrimination
CanvasGlobe does not allow content that attacks, dehumanises, or promotes hatred against people based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
You may discuss difficult subjects, historical events, political issues, or controversial ideas. However, criticism of an idea should not become an attack on people simply because of who they are.
3. Threats, Violence and Dangerous Content
CanvasGlobe does not allow credible threats of violence or content encouraging real-world violence against individuals or groups.
- Threatening another user.
- Encouraging someone to physically harm another person.
- Promoting real-world violent attacks.
- Celebrating or encouraging violence against identifiable individuals or groups.
However, violence depicted in fictional, artistic, sporting, gaming, or entertainment contexts is not automatically prohibited.
For example, artwork depicting fictional battles, horror, martial arts, boxing, MMA, or video-game combat may be acceptable provided it does not otherwise violate these guidelines.
4. Sexual and Explicit Content
CanvasGlobe is intended to be a broad creative community. Content that is sexually explicit or pornographic is not permitted.
This includes explicit sexual imagery, pornography, and content created primarily for sexual gratification.
Content involving the sexual exploitation of minors is strictly prohibited.
CanvasGlobe may also remove content that is excessively graphic, disturbing, or intended primarily to shock or exploit other users.
5. Protect Children and Young People
CanvasGlobe has zero tolerance for the sexual exploitation of children.
- Sexual content involving minors.
- Sexual solicitation of minors.
- Grooming or attempts to establish inappropriate sexual relationships with minors.
- Requests for or distribution of sexual images involving minors.
- Any other content intended to sexually exploit or abuse a child.
Where appropriate, CanvasGlobe may report serious violations to the relevant authorities.
6. Respect Copyright and Creative Ownership
CanvasGlobe is built around creativity, and we want creators to receive recognition for their work.
Only upload or share content that you created yourself or have permission to use.
- Present someone else's artwork as your own.
- Re-upload another creator's work without permission.
- Remove another creator's watermark or attribution and claim the work as your own.
- Use copyrighted material in a way that infringes another person's rights.
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used without permission, you can report it to CanvasGlobe for review.
Inspiration is different from copying.
Artists are encouraged to learn from, reference, and be inspired by other creators. However, inspiration should not become direct copying or misrepresentation.
7. Don't Spam the Community
CanvasGlobe is designed for genuine interaction and discovery.
Do not use the platform to flood users with repetitive or unwanted content.
- Repeatedly posting the same Canvas.
- Posting excessive promotional content.
- Repeatedly posting irrelevant comments.
- Mass-following or unfollowing users to manipulate visibility.
- Posting automated or meaningless engagement.
- Using CanvasGlobe primarily to distribute unsolicited advertising.
Sharing your work, website, social media, or creative projects is welcome. Spam is not.
8. Keep Engagement Authentic
CanvasGlobe's likes, comments, rankings, and other forms of engagement are intended to represent genuine community interaction.
Do not artificially manipulate engagement.
- Purchasing likes or other forms of engagement.
- Using bots to generate activity.
- Creating fake accounts to increase engagement.
- Coordinating fake engagement.
- Exploiting bugs or technical vulnerabilities to manipulate rankings.
- Using multiple accounts to artificially promote your own content.
This is particularly important for features such as Canvas of the Day and future community rankings.
We want the Canvases receiving recognition to earn it from the community.
9. No Scams, Fraud or Deceptive Activity
Do not use CanvasGlobe to deceive or defraud other people.
- Fake giveaways.
- Investment scams.
- Phishing attempts.
- Fraudulent sales.
- Fake fundraising campaigns.
- Requests for money based on deliberately false information.
- Attempts to obtain another person's passwords, financial information, or account credentials.
Be cautious when interacting with links or offers posted by other users.
CanvasGlobe does not automatically endorse or verify every external website, campaign, product, service, or fundraiser shared by users.
10. Respect People's Privacy
Everyone has a right to privacy.
Do not publish another person's private or sensitive information without their permission.
- Home addresses.
- Personal phone numbers.
- Private email addresses.
- Financial information.
- Identification documents.
- Private photographs.
- Passwords or account credentials.
- Other sensitive personal information.
- No doxxing.
Using CanvasGlobe to identify, expose, or encourage others to target someone's private information is prohibited.
11. Impersonation
Don't pretend to be someone else in order to deceive people.
- Another CanvasGlobe user.
- A celebrity or public figure.
- A company or organisation.
- CanvasGlobe employees or representatives.
Parody, satire, fan accounts, and fictional identities may be permitted where they are clearly presented as such and are not intended to deceive or harm others.
12. Illegal Activity
CanvasGlobe must not be used to facilitate or promote illegal activity.
This includes using the platform to organise, promote, or facilitate activities such as:
- Fraud.
- Theft.
- Human trafficking.
- Exploitation.
- Sale of illegal goods.
- Terrorist activity.
- Other serious criminal activity.
Content discussing illegal activity for legitimate purposes such as news, education, documentary work, historical discussion, or artistic expression may be allowed depending on the context.
13. External Links
CanvasGlobe allows creators to share their work and connect their Canvases with other parts of the internet.
- Malware.
- Phishing pages.
- Scams.
- Illegal content.
- Fraudulent services.
- Other harmful or deceptive material.
Links to legitimate personal websites, portfolios, YouTube channels, social media profiles, creative projects, and businesses are generally welcome.
14. Don't Evade Moderation
If CanvasGlobe removes content or restricts an account for violating these guidelines, do not attempt to circumvent the action.
- Re-uploading content that was removed.
- Creating another account to avoid a suspension or ban.
- Using another account to continue prohibited behaviour.
- Attempting to circumvent technical restrictions placed on your account.
Repeated attempts to evade moderation may result in further action.
Reporting Content
If you see something on CanvasGlobe that you believe violates these Community Guidelines, please report it.
You can report content such as:
- Canvases
- Comments
- Profiles
- Messages
- Suspicious links
- Other inappropriate activity
When reporting something, select the reason that best describes the problem and provide additional information where useful.
Please don't use the reporting system simply because you disagree with someone's opinion or don't like their artwork.
Reports should be made in good faith.
Blocking Other Users
If another user is making you uncomfortable, you can use CanvasGlobe's blocking tools where available.
Blocking can be useful for unwanted interactions that may not necessarily violate these guidelines.
You don't need to wait for something to become a serious violation before choosing to distance yourself from another user.
How We Enforce These Guidelines
When we identify content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, CanvasGlobe may take action depending on the seriousness and circumstances of the violation.
Possible actions include:
Content Removal
The offending Canvas, comment, profile content, or other material may be removed.
Warning
We may notify you about the violation and explain which guideline was broken.
Feature Restrictions
Certain features, such as commenting, uploading, messaging, or interacting with other users, may be temporarily restricted.
Temporary Suspension
Your account may be temporarily suspended.
Permanent Removal
Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent removal from CanvasGlobe.
Immediate Action
Not every violation will receive a warning first. Severe violations โ particularly those involving credible threats, child exploitation, serious harassment, fraud, or other serious harm โ may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal.
Where appropriate, CanvasGlobe may also cooperate with lawful requests from relevant authorities.
Appeals
If you believe CanvasGlobe has removed your content or restricted your account incorrectly, you may appeal the decision through the available support or appeals process.
When submitting an appeal, explain why you believe the decision was incorrect and provide any relevant context.
We will review appeals in accordance with our available moderation procedures.
Context Matters
Not everything that appears controversial, offensive, violent, or unusual is automatically a violation.
CanvasGlobe is a creative platform, and we recognise that art and expression can explore difficult subjects.
Context may therefore matter when evaluating content.
For example, content involving violence may be acceptable when it is clearly part of:
- Fiction.
- Art.
- Gaming.
- Film or entertainment.
- Sport.
- Historical or educational discussion.
However, the same subject matter may violate these guidelines when it is used to threaten, encourage real-world harm, exploit others, or glorify serious wrongdoing.
Our Community Standard
At its heart, CanvasGlobe is about people sharing something that means something to them.
You don't have to agree with every person.
You don't have to like every Canvas.
You don't have to understand every story.
But you should give other people the same opportunity to create and express themselves that you expect for yourself.
Create freely.
Respect others.
Own what you share.
Keep engagement authentic.
Help keep the community safe.
Every Canvas has a Story. Every Story has a Home.
